Den medelmåttige smågangstern Jerry Welbach funderar på att söka sig ett hederligt jobb. Revolvern är dock mytomspunnen och kringgärdad av vidskepelse och snart märker Jerry att lika lätt som det varit för honom att hitta vapnet, lika svårt är det att få revolvern med sig tillbaka till USA. Precis när han är nära att ge upp, dyker maffians egen kontraktsmördare upp och ger honom extra motivation! Yrkesmördaren har nämligen tagit Samantha som gisslan tills dess att revolvern är i maffians ägo.
